Travis received his BBA in Finance and MBA in Economics from Western Michigan University, his JD from the Wake Forest University School of Law, and his LLM in Taxation from the University of Denver's Graduate Tax Program.
He began practicing law as a contract attorney for a Criminal and Civil Tax Litigation Attorney in Denver. In January 2000 Travis moved to the Western Slope and went to work for the 21st Judicial District of Colorado as a Deputy District Attorney in Grand Junction. He later worked for the largest accounting firm on Colorado's Western Slope where he worked as a Tax Senior and gained hands on, practical expertise in the areas of trusts, estates, gifting, tax research, and tax controversy in addition to solid income tax preparation skills.
